Marlon Brando, 80:  some consider him to be the greatest movie actor of all time, he played Don Corleone in The Godfather.   He was survived by nine children

Ray Charles, 73:  His 1962 hit I Can't Stop Loving You was #1 for five weeks.  Blind from the age of six, he actually drove a car in the desert as an adult when signed to film a car commercial.

Julia Child, 91:  perhaps the most famous female TV chef of all time, she was also one of the most parodied characters with comical references from Saturday Night Live to Home Improvement.  Her kitchen became an exhibit in the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC.

Rodney Dangerfield, 82:  he began writing jokes in the 1930s at age 15, and never got any respect!  He appeared 16 times on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Estee Lauder, 97:  the famed cosmetics queen, at her death, Forbes estimated her family's net worth at $5.1 billion.

Bob Keeshan, 76:  we knew him as Captain Kangaroo,  he was also the original Clarabell the Clown on The Howdy Doody Show.

Janet Leigh, 77:  actress in one of the most famous horror scenes in the shower in Psycho, she was also mother to another fright queen, Jamie Lee Curtis.

Tony Randall, 84:  best known as Felix Unger in the TV series The Odd Couple,  at the time of his death, his current wife was 50 years younger than him.

Ronald Reagan, 96:  appearing in over 75 films prior to becoming a US President, he was recently ranked as the #1 most popular historical figure in the history of the United States in the online poll conducted by The History Channel.

Christopher Reeve, 52:  he played the title role in the 1978 film Superman, but was also well known after being paralyzed after a horse riding accident and making public appearances about safety and overcoming tragedy.

Fay Wray, 96:  the "girlfriend" in the original King Kong in 1933, she actually appeared in over 100 films in her career.
